  • Whether we are working on Bach or Billie Eilish, my flexible, goal centered approach is catered to the individual student.

  • Lessons incorporate theory, ear training, and music history in building a lifetime love and appreciation of music and the cello.

  • One of my goals is to break down "the right way" to move and position ourselves while we play in terms of ergonomics, efficiency, and musicality, so that students understand the mechanics behind playing the cello, and build a solid foundation in cello technique and independence on the instrument.

  • Studying the cello develops persistence, creative problem solving, effective project management, concentration, calm, and focus.

I have been teaching in the Baltimore area for twenty four years; currently I teach cello lessons from my studio in Baltimore, near Johns Hopkins University, and remotely over Zoom. All ages and ability levels are welcome. If you are interested in lessons, please feel free to contact me with any questions and schedule a free trial lesson.
